The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) has been postponed for a year following an intensive, 18-month campaign by senior US negotiators which we have worked hard to support.

We are now working to develop an approach that does not add to the existing burden of administration in our supply chain. The European Council has been made aware that geolocation and traceability back to farm is not possible in the US. LHCA is now working with USDA to develop a single geolocation file to cover all cattle production facilities, including federal grazing lands, non-federal grazing lands, feed lots, packing facilities, processors and tanners. If this is accepted by the European Commission, it will remove the burden of geolocation from individual suppliers. Read more about our negotiations.
