Africa Technical Exchange — May 2025
In collaboration with the Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI) and Ege University, Turkey, we delivered comprehensive technical training to nine senior tannery managers from six African nations: Ethiopia, Malawi, Burundi, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This knowledge-sharing initiative builds international partnerships while elevating industry standards across emerging leather markets.
Indonesia Technical Exchange — September 2025
Partnering with the Indonesia Tanners Association (APKI), this first-ever technical training marked a significant milestone in Indonesia with a two-day workshop held on September 8 and 9, 2025 in Malang. The workshop brought together 35 representatives from Indonesian tanneries, industry associations and educational institutions, reinforcing LHCA’s commitment to promoting the availability and quality of US hides and supporting sustainable development across the global leather value chain. The training strengthened trade relationships between the US and Indonesia by promoting greater understanding of US hide specifications and fostering confidence in their consistent quality and reliability. This initiative ultimately supports the growth and competitiveness of Indonesia’s leather industry in global markets and increases opportunity for US trade. Read more here.
