CARBON FOOTPRINT ALLOCATION TARGET ZERO

L&HCA has collaborated with international trade associations on the allocation of some of the carbon footprint of cattle going to leather. The US allocation, based on AMS data, is 1%. EU regulations assign 3.5%, disadvantaging leather.

We are working to get that down to zero. If hide doesn’t go to leather, it goes to landfill, and because of that the allocation should begin after the hide is taken off the animal.
