Public Comment Opportunity Open on EU Deforestation Regulation

A public comment opportunity is now open on the European Commission's proposal to amend and simplify the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This includes the proposal to remove leather and hides from the legislation.

The EUDR has been a top priority for LHCA, which has been working closely with European partners to pursue the removal of hides and leather from the regulation's scope. A simplification proposal is expected to be finalized by the Commission later this month, making this public comment window a critical opportunity for industry voices to be heard.

Members with questions or who wish to coordinate their submissions are encouraged to contact the LHCA office.
